✍🏽
Summary

Working at a startup, I learnt how to be resourceful. This led to a great learning on how to approach communicating your invention, both verbally and in written form of utility application. Specifically, these learnings are:

  1. Written detailed description: I approached patent writing as a tool to not just disclose invention, but to communicate it clearly to the reader.
  2. Claims strategy: Defining feature tree and mapping it to the claims tree. A solid claims tree can lead to strategically defined list of independent and dependent claims.
  3. Creating drawings for patent filing using vector graphics tools- Visio, AI
  4. Attorney communication: Working cohesively with attorneys with clarity on invention details, project scope and timeline
